privacy
Last updated: August 12, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information in relation to your use of the hearMore Application (the “App”). The App is designed to function as a controller for your hearing aid, with all operations performed locally on your mobile device.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this document. We recommend that you periodically review this policy to stay informed.
1. Core Principles: Your Privacy First
The App was designed with your privacy as a top priority. Therefore:
-
No Account or Login Required: You do not need to create an account or provide any personal information to use the full functionality of the App.
-
Local Data Storage: All of your usage data, such as your hearing aid settings and adjustment history, is stored exclusively on your own mobile device. We do not access, upload, or store this information on our servers.
-
No Automatic Data Collection: The App does not automatically collect or transmit any personally identifiable information or usage data to us.
2. Information We Process: Only Voluntary Troubleshooting Logs
The only scenario where we may receive information from your device is when you experience a technical issue and choose to use the "Export Log" feature to help us diagnose the problem.
-
Purpose and Method: This feature is intended solely to help our technical team identify and resolve bugs in the App. It is a completely manual process that you must initiate. You are required to actively generate the log file within the App and then send it to us using your own email client or another sharing method of your choice.
-
Contents of the Log: The log file contains anonymous technical information related to the App's performance, such as your mobile device model, operating system version, App version, error codes, and hearing aid connectivity status. These logs do not contain your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information.
-
Legal Basis: We process the log file you send us based on your explicit consent, which is demonstrated by your action of sending it to us.
-
Use and Retention: We promise to use the log file only for the purpose of analyzing and resolving the technical issue you reported. Once the issue is resolved, or after the minimum time required for analysis, we will promptly delete the log data.
3. Disclosure of Your Information
We will not share, sell, or otherwise disclose the information from any log file you send us to any third party, except where it is necessary to resolve a specific technical issue (e.g., with assistance from an original equipment manufacturer) or if we are required to do so by law.
4. Data Storage and Security
As stated, your personal usage data is stored entirely on your own device. You can delete all locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the App. For the troubleshooting logs you voluntarily send to us, we implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect their security and prevent unauthorized access or disclosure.
5. Your Legal Rights
Because we do not actively collect or hold your personal data, your rights are primarily exercised on your own device. You have the right to:
-
Access and Rectify: Access and modify your settings within the App at any time.
-
Erasure: Delete all locally stored data by uninstalling the App.
-
Withdraw Consent: For troubleshooting logs, you can choose not to send them to us. If you have already sent a log, you can contact us to request its deletion.
6. Third-Party Links
The App may contain links to other websites or services. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such external sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
